Jordan Hosts Climate Workshop in Petra to Prepare for COP31
The Jordanian Ministry of Environment, in collaboration with UNDP, conducted a climate workshop in Petra to advance the Kingdom's agenda ahead of COP31 in Turkey. The workshop focused on translating COP30 outcomes into actionable projects, emphasizing climate finance, green economy transitions, and youth and community engagement. Participants discussed aligning Jordan's national strategy with the Belem implementation package, while preparing for an updated Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC 3.0). A policy roadmap was formulated, prioritizing electricity storage, water-energy-food nexus, and green hydrogen initiatives.
