Jordan's Parliamentary Committee Reviews 2025 Gas Law Draft to Enhance Energy Supply Security
Jordan's Parliamentary Committee on Energy and Mineral Resources, led by MP Ayman Abu Haniya, has begun reviewing the 2025 Gas Law draft to enhance energy supply security and attract investment in the gas sector. The proposed legislation aims to clarify the roles of relevant authorities and include provisions for infrastructure investment, consumer rights, and service quality improvements. Minister Saleh Kharabsheh highlighted the law's role in modernizing the energy sector and boosting operational efficiency.

The Parliamentary Committee on Energy and Mineral Resources in Jordan, led by MP Ayman Abu Haniya, commenced discussions on the 2025 Gas Law draft, attended by Minister Saleh Kharabsheh and sector representatives. The committee aims to enhance energy supply security and attract investment by regulating the gas sector and hydrogen derivatives.
The draft will clarify the roles of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources and the Energy and Minerals Regulatory Commission in policy-setting and licensing. MPs emphasized the need for provisions that support infrastructure investment, safeguard consumer rights, and improve service quality. Kharabsheh noted that the law is part of efforts to modernize the energy sector and improve operational efficiency.
