Jupiter Power has secured approval to construct Massachusetts' largest battery energy storage system in Everett on 16.5 acres of the former ExxonMobil tank farm site. The project will consist of two substations and two underground transmission lines, housing 816 lithium-ion battery enclosures, each with integrated cooling and heating systems.

This facility will interconnect with the Eversource Mystic Substation to manage electric grid energy for storage and later use. It is part of the Docklands mixed-use development, which will also include 3.3 million square feet of lab and office space, 2.8 million square feet of residential space, and additional industrial, retail, and maker spaces.
