Karman Industries Launches 10MW Heat Processing Unit for AI Infrastructure
Karman Industries has launched a modular 10MW Heat Processing Unit (HPU) designed for AI hyperscalers, which optimizes energy consumption while eliminating water use. The company has raised $20 million in Series A funding, bringing its total to over $30 million, and plans to start initial customer deliveries in Q3 2026 from its Los Angeles facility, with a goal of achieving 4GW capacity to meet demand. The HPUs significantly reduce mechanical yard footprint and enhance Power Utilization Effectiveness, allowing for heat reuse in electricity and district heating.

Karman Industries launched the Heat Processing Unit (HPU), a modular 10MW thermal platform for AI hyperscalers, optimizing energy consumption and eliminating water use. The company secured $20 million in Series A funding, totaling over $30 million.
HPUs reduce mechanical yard footprint by 60-80%, enhance Power Utilization Effectiveness, and allow for heat reuse for electricity and district heating. Initial customer deliveries will start in Q3 2026 from their Los Angeles facility, designed for 1GW annual production, aiming for 4GW capacity to meet demand.
