Karnali Province to Develop Up to 20MW Hydropower Projects via PPP
Karnali Province plans to construct hydropower projects totaling up to 20MW capacity through public-private partnerships. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to diversify energy sources including solar and wind.

The Karnali Province government will undertake the construction of hydropower projects with a total generation capacity of 20 megawatts, in collaboration with the federal government and local investments. Chief Minister Yagya Raj Joshi highlighted the 'Karnali's Water - People's Investment' campaign, which signifies shared investment from local residents.
Additionally, the province's policies aim to enhance electricity supply through various renewable sources including solar, wind, and small hydropower projects. The ongoing Jagadulla-A Hydroelectricity Project in Dolpa is an example of this strategic investment in energy infrastructure.
