Karnataka Launches Centre of Excellence for Space Technology in Bengaluru
Karnataka has established India's first state-led Centre of Excellence for Space Technology to enhance societal applications through satellite systems. This initiative aims to foster innovation and collaborations across sectors, positioning Karnataka as a key player in the global space economy.

Karnataka has inaugurated the Centre of Excellence (CoE) for Space Technology, aiming to develop a satellite constellation to address societal needs. This initiative, named CoE SpaceTech Foundation, is a collaboration between the Karnataka Innovation and Technology Society (KITS) and SIA-India.
It emphasizes applied research, talent development, and startup incubation in areas such as agriculture, disaster management, and national security. Multiple partnerships have been formed, including with Manipal Academy for space biology research and Helogen Corporation for biomanufacturing. The CoE will serve as a collaborative platform, facilitating the conversion of technical capabilities into market-ready solutions, thereby strengthening Karnataka's role in India's space economy.
