Kazakhstan Highlights Space Sector Progress at COPUOS 2026
Kazakhstan showcased its advancements in the space sector at the 69th COPUOS session, emphasizing international cooperation and new technologies. The successful launch of the Soyuz-5/Sunkar vehicle marks a significant milestone for the country's space capabilities.

Kazakhstan's delegation participated in the 69th session of COPUOS from 10 to 18 June 2026, presenting key developments in its space sector. Notable highlights included the first test launch of the Soyuz-5/Sunkar vehicle on 30 April 2026, enhancing Kazakhstan's position in the global space market.
The nation stressed the importance of international cooperation and equal access to space technologies. Additionally, participation in the OTS SAT nanosatellite project was emphasized. Kazakhstan will host the 'Space Days Kazakhstan - 2026' forum in Astana from 7 to 9 September 2026, inviting global stakeholders to engage in its space initiatives.
