KBR Wins Contract for Ammonia Plant in Argentina
KBR will provide Purifier technology for a 3,430 tonnes-per-day ammonia facility in Bahía Blanca by 2029. This project, in partnership with Pampa Energía and others, aims to enhance regional food security and position the site as a key production hub in Latin America.

KBR has secured a contract with Pampa Energía to supply technology licensing, engineering design, and proprietary equipment for a new ammonia-urea complex in Bahía Blanca, Argentina. The plant, designed to produce 3,430 tonnes of ammonia per day, is set to commence operations by the end of 2029 and will be the largest single-train ammonia facility in Latin America.
This project is significant for regional food security and reflects KBR's commitment to energy-efficient processes. The collaboration with Pampa Energía, SACDE, and Tecnimont may influence future industrial partnerships in the region.
