KDDI and J-Power Finalize Third Virtual PPA for Wind Power in Japan
KDDI has entered into a third virtual power purchase agreement with J-Power for an onshore wind project, enhancing its emission reduction strategies. The Iwaki Futago Wind Power Plant will feature an 8.4 MW capacity, with construction slated to start in early fiscal 2026.

KDDI's new agreement with Electric Power Development (J-Power) and J-Wind pertains to the Iwaki Futago Wind Power Plant in Akita Prefecture, Japan. This project aims to support KDDI's commitment to lowering emissions from its telecommunications activities.
Construction is set to commence in the first half of fiscal 2026, with the plant expected to begin commercial operations thereafter. This initiative reflects a growing trend in the industry towards renewable energy sourcing, potentially influencing operational costs and regulatory compliance for telecommunications companies.
