Kedah Government Considers Cloud Seeding as Dam Water Levels Drop
Kedah's Menteri Besar Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor warns of declining water levels, potentially necessitating cloud seeding interventions. Current dam capacities are at 38%, prompting concerns over water supply sustainability, while major rivers remain functional. The situation mirrors last year's conditions, where cloud seeding was employed with assistance from the Royal Malaysian Air Force. High temperatures exceeding 37 degrees Celsius have also been reported in several districts.

The Kedah government, led by Menteri Besar Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor, is contemplating cloud seeding due to declining dam water levels, currently at a combined capacity of 38%. This situation reflects last year's conditions when similar interventions were made with support from the Royal Malaysian Air Force.
While major rivers like Sungai Kedah remain adequate, high temperatures exceeding 37 degrees Celsius have been recorded in several districts, raising concerns about water supply sustainability. Sanusi has called for relevant agencies to act according to standard operating procedures, and the ongoing harvesting season has somewhat alleviated water demand.
