Kehua Launches Tirol's First Large-Scale Battery Storage System at Obere Sill Hydropower Plant
Kehua has installed a 3.44MWh battery energy storage system in Innsbruck, Austria, marking Tirol's first large-scale deployment. This system is designed to stabilize power supply and enhance grid resilience during outages.

Kehua has implemented a 3.44MWh battery energy storage system at the Obere Sill Hydropower Plant for Innsbrucker Kommunalbetriebe (IKB), the first large-scale battery storage in Tirol. This turnkey solution integrates with existing infrastructure to improve energy stability and support renewable energy integration.
The system incorporates advanced inverter technology, ensuring reliable performance in extreme weather and noise reduction. Kehua has previously deployed over 400 grid-forming microgrid systems globally, with total storage shipments exceeding 3 GW. This project may serve as a model for enhancing energy resilience in regions facing similar grid challenges.
