Kern Energy Secures Permit for Hydrogen Reincorporation at Refinery
Kern Energy's refinery in California has received approval to enhance its operations by integrating byproduct hydrogen into fuel production. This move aims to improve efficiency and reduce waste in transportation fuel manufacturing.

Kern Energy's refinery, located southeast of Bakersfield, has been granted permission by the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District to modify its operations. The facility, processing 25,000 barrels per day, will install a hydrogen power generation setup that includes fuel cells, hydrogen purification, and associated hydrogenation and dehydrogenation units. This initiative reflects a growing trend towards sustainability in refining processes, potentially reducing operational emissions and improving overall fuel production efficiency.
