Kevin O'Leary and MIDA Launch Major Data Center Initiative in Utah
Kevin O'Leary's O'Leary Digital Utah Development will partner with MIDA to develop a hyperscale data center project in Box Elder County. The Stratos Project Area aims to generate up to nine gigawatts of energy and significantly boost local economic revenue.

The Military Installation Development Authority (MIDA) will initiate the Stratos Project Area for hyperscale data centers in Box Elder County, Utah, in partnership with O'Leary Digital Utah Development led by Kevin O'Leary. Phase 1 is projected to yield approximately three gigawatts of energy, with the total capacity reaching nine gigawatts.
MIDA anticipates that upon completion, the project could generate annual revenue of up to $108 million for the county. Local residents have expressed concerns regarding transparency and potential impacts on their properties, while proponents highlight significant economic benefits. The project aims to support national security and compete with international AI data center capabilities.
