Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to Construct 22-km Transmission Line in Swat for Hydropower
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government plans to build a 22-kilometer transmission line in Swat district to transmit hydropower. Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) and Pakhtunkhwa Energy Development Organization (PEDO) have agreed to start construction soon, expected to save billions and generate significant revenue. A recent high-level meeting reviewed the project and discussed ongoing hydropower projects in the region. The new line will connect Madin Grid Station to Khawaza Khela Grid Station, enhancing electricity transmission from future hydropower projects.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government will construct a 22-kilometer transmission line in Swat to transmit hydropower. PESCO and PEDO have reached an agreement to initiate the project, with construction expected to start shortly.
The project aims to save costs and generate revenue for the province. A meeting chaired by Secretary Energy Nisar Ahmed reviewed the project, which will connect Madin Grid Station to Khawaza Khela Grid Station and will support upcoming hydropower projects set for completion in 2 to 5 years. Expenses will be reimbursed under NEPRA's Open Access Regulation, 2022 program.
