Kight Powerhubs Opens Scotland's First Domestic Battery Factory in Dumfries
Kight Powerhubs has launched Scotland's first home energy battery factory in Dumfries, marking a significant step in energy storage solutions. The facility will assemble the AI-enabled Powerhub, a 10kWh battery system developed over six years, designed to reduce electricity bills by up to 80% and achieve zero bills when combined with solar panels. The project, in partnership with South of Scotland Enterprise, aims to create over 700 skilled jobs and improve energy efficiency in social housing, while also addressing Scotland's renewable energy storage needs.

Kight Powerhubs has established Scotland's first domestic battery factory in Dumfries, serving as the main assembly site for the AI-enabled Powerhub, a 10kWh battery system. Developed in collaboration with South of Scotland Enterprise over six years, the Powerhub aims to cut electricity bills by an average of 80% and achieve zero bills with solar panel integration.
The factory is projected to create over 700 skilled jobs and an additional 2,000 in the supply chain. The Powerhub's unique battery chemistry offers zero fire risk, 100% usable capacity, a 25-year warranty, and a 20,000-cycle lifespan, enhancing energy storage in social housing and contributing to Scotland's renewable energy goals.
