Kildare Council Addresses Traffic Disruption from Wastewater Treatment Works
Kildare County Council is reviewing traffic management strategies to mitigate congestion linked to the Crodaun Wastewater Treatment Works. The council acknowledges that major infrastructure projects will lead to unavoidable disruptions, especially during peak hours.

Kildare County Council is actively monitoring traffic congestion caused by the Crodaun Wastewater Treatment Works, particularly along the R405. At a meeting on June 19, 2026, Cllr Rupert Heather requested updates on measures to alleviate peak-time traffic issues and whether current management strategies would be reassessed.
The council confirmed that improvements to traffic light sequencing and flow control have been implemented to reduce disruptions. Despite these efforts, the council noted that significant infrastructure projects in urban areas are likely to cause unavoidable delays during busy periods.
