Kilkenny will enhance Ballyrafton Wood and Jenkinstown Wood with a €40,000 investment from Coillte's Strategic Capital Investment Programme. Improvements include trail upgrades and new signage at Ballyrafton Wood for better accessibility.
Jenkinstown Wood will receive a wastewater treatment system to accommodate increased visitor numbers. Both sites are significant for community recreation and tourism, with Cllr Pat Fitzpatrick emphasizing the need for ongoing investment to sustain these natural assets. The upgrades are expected to improve the visitor experience, particularly during peak seasons.
