Kindle Energy Launches $750M Magnolia Power Generation Station in Iberville Parish, Louisiana
CARBON CAPTUREGAS TURBINES & ENGINESHYDROGEN
The Magnolia Power Generation Station, a $750 million project by Kindle Energy, has commenced operations in Iberville Parish, Louisiana, generating 700 megawatts of electricity. It aims to supply power for over 500,000 homes served by five rural utility cooperatives.
The plant employs combined-cycle gas turbines for high efficiency and is designed for future hydrogen use and carbon capture. Groundbreaking occurred in 2022, creating 400 construction jobs, with 25 permanent positions expected. A new $1.5 billion agreement allows rural cooperatives to buy power from out-of-state utilities, potentially cutting energy costs by 15%.
