King Abdullah Oversees National Water Conveyance Project Preparations
The National Water Conveyance Project aims to deliver 300 million cubic meters of potable water annually. It is a key initiative under Jordan's Economic Modernisation Vision, focusing on enhancing national water security.

King Abdullah chaired a meeting to assess the National Water Conveyance Project, also known as the Aqaba-Amman Water Desalination and Conveyance Project. This public-private partnership seeks to provide approximately 300 million cubic meters of potable water each year, sourced from the Red Sea and distributed to Amman and other regions.
Prime Minister Jafar Hassan reported on the government's progress towards finalizing the agreement and achieving financial closure in the upcoming months. The King emphasized the necessity of aligning infrastructure with the project's technical specifications and urged clear communication of its phases and objectives to the public. The project's timeline must be adhered to, with all aspects carefully evaluated to strengthen water security.
