Kingston-Cataldo Sewer District Launches Innovative Wastewater Treatment Project
The Kingston-Cataldo Sewer District is implementing a land application treatment facility to enhance wastewater management, funded by state and federal grants. This project will transition 350 connections and foster ecological benefits, including support for local pollinators and conservation partnerships.

Construction of a new land application treatment facility by the Kingston-Cataldo Sewer District began a year ago, with completion expected this summer. This initiative, funded by the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality, ARPA funds, and Leading Idaho grants, aims to serve 350 connections, reducing flows to the South Fork Sewer District.
The project will irrigate 52 acres, benefiting local flora and pollinators, while geological findings revealed clay deposits suitable for construction. Native plant enhancements are planned to ensure ecological resilience. The approach exemplifies innovative wastewater management that prioritizes sustainability and community collaboration.
