KIP and Turner secure $502M utility project; Sedgman and Thiess awarded contracts in Canada and Australia
Kentucky Infrastructure Partners (KIP) has reached financial closure on a $580 million utility project at the University of Kentucky, with Turner Construction (ACS) involved in design and construction. Sedgman has been awarded a contract for lithium project engineering in Canada, while Thiess has secured multiple contracts for mining projects in Australia, reinforcing their market positions.

Kentucky Infrastructure Partners (KIP) has closed financing for a $580 million utility project at the University of Kentucky, with Turner Construction (ACS) leading design and construction efforts. The project aims to enhance heating, cooling, and electrical supply systems, with completion expected by 2029.
Meanwhile, Sedgman (part of ACS) will execute the initial engineering design for E3 Lithium’s Clearwater project in Alberta, Canada. Thiess also obtained three new contracts for gold and critical minerals projects in Australia, enhancing its role in complex underground operations. These developments may significantly impact infrastructure and resource sectors in their respective regions.
