Kirloskar Brothers Opens New Manufacturing Facility in Tamil Nadu, Powered by 80% Renewables
Kirloskar Brothers Ltd. has opened a new manufacturing facility in Kaniyur, Tamil Nadu, coinciding with the company's 100th anniversary of India's first centrifugal pump. The facility will be powered by 80% renewable energy, reducing carbon emissions significantly while enhancing productivity and operational efficiency to meet rising demand. Additionally, KBL is expanding into the U.S. market with modular systems and has secured a contract for 14,000 pumps for petroleum applications.

Kirloskar Brothers Ltd. has inaugurated a new factory building at its Kaniyur manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu, marking the company's 100th anniversary since the installation of India's first centrifugal pump. The facility aims to enhance productivity, operational efficiency, and advanced manufacturing processes to meet increasing domestic and global demand.
Renewable energy will power 80% of operations, significantly reducing carbon emissions by 122.5 tCO₂e and cutting Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 89%, while also delivering annual savings of approximately Rs 21.64 lakh. Additionally, KBL is adapting to the U.S. data center market by providing modular, containerized packaged systems, and recently secured a contract for 14,000 pumps for petroleum applications, competing with American firms.
