KKR Invests Up to $416 Million in HMC Capital's Energy Transition Platform in Australia

KKR is investing up to A$603 million (about $416 million) in HMC Capital's energy transition platform, becoming a strategic partner in its 652 megawatts of operating assets and a 5.7 gigawatt development pipeline, which includes battery energy storage systems and wind projects. This investment will support the expansion of the platform and aims to improve grid reliability as Australia increases its spending on flexible energy assets.
The transaction is set to close in mid-2026, pending regulatory approvals. This investment follows KKR's previous climate investment in Australia and is part of its Global Climate Transition strategy.
