KMP Invests in Econili's Lithium-Ion Battery Recycling Plant in Malaysia
Kumpulan Modal Perdana (KMP) has invested in Econili Battery New Energy Sdn Bhd's lithium-ion battery recycling plant in Malaysia, aiming to enhance the country's transition to a high-tech, net-zero economy. The facility, operational since 2019, can process up to 24,000 tonnes of used batteries annually, supporting the domestic electric vehicle value chain and aligning with national renewable energy goals.

Kumpulan Modal Perdana (KMP) has made a strategic investment in Econili Battery New Energy Sdn Bhd's hydrometallurgical facility in Malaysia, focusing on lithium-ion battery recycling. Econili, the industry leader since 2019, specializes in recovering metals from used batteries and mixed-metal waste.
KMP CEO Yarham Yunus stated that the investment aims to support Malaysia's transition to a high-tech, net-zero economy and to retain the electric vehicle value chain domestically, aligning with the Madani Economy aspirations and the New Industrial Master Plan 2030. The Econili plant can process up to 24,000 tonnes of used batteries annually, contributing to the government's renewable energy objectives.
