Končar Opens New High-Voltage Testing Laboratory in Croatia
Končar inaugurated a EUR 20 million laboratory for power systems and drives in Bedekovčina, enhancing its testing capabilities. This facility aims to advance high-voltage equipment testing and foster international partnerships in power engineering.

Končar has launched a new laboratory for power systems and drives in Bedekovčina, Croatia, with an investment exceeding EUR 20 million. The facility, covering 2,700 square meters, is designed for testing high-voltage equipment and will support the growing demand for HVDC technologies, crucial for integrating renewable energy sources.
This is the second laboratory of its kind within Končar - Electrical Engineering Institute, following the first opened in Zagreb in January 2023. Preparations for a third laboratory, LAVESP 3, valued at EUR 26 million, have already begun. The establishment of these laboratories is part of Končar's strategy to enhance collaboration with the scientific community and strengthen its position in the European power engineering market.
