Korea Gas Safety Corporation Advances Hydrogen Safety Infrastructure Development
The Korea Gas Safety Corporation is focused on building hydrogen safety infrastructure to support the hydrogen economy, following the government's 2019 roadmap and the 2020 Hydrogen Act. The corporation has implemented a safety impact assessment system and established a rigorous safety diagnosis system for hydrogen charging stations.
In 2023, the Hydrogen Safety Management Roadmap 2.0 was introduced to enhance safety standards for clean hydrogen production. A Hydrogen Product Test and Evaluation Center has been established in Eumseong to verify safety for hydrogen vehicles and components.
A Liquid Hydrogen Inspection Support Center opened in December 2025 to ensure the safety of liquefied hydrogen facilities. The corporation also opened the Hydrogen Safety Museum to educate the public about hydrogen energy.
