Korea Launches Phase II of Power Grid Project in Tajikistan
The Korean government has initiated the second phase of its electricity supply project in Tajikistan, investing $14 million to enhance energy access for over 8,000 residents. This phase aims to construct a new substation and expand existing infrastructure, building on the success of earlier efforts that connected 1,500 households to the grid.

The Korean government has launched the second phase of its electricity supply initiative in Tajikistan, focusing on the Yavroz electrical substation near Vahdat Township. Funded by KOICA with $14 million, this phase includes the construction of a new 110/10 kV substation, expansion of the Romit substation, and installation of 60 km of distribution lines, aimed at benefiting 15 villages.
The first phase from 2017 to 2021 connected nine villages, providing significant improvements in living standards, access to appliances, education, and health services. This new phase is expected to further enhance social and economic conditions for thousands in mountainous regions.
