Korea Zinc's Ark Energy Gains Approval for Major Battery Storage Project in Australia
Ark Energy, the Australian subsidiary of Korea Zinc, has received essential grid connection approval for its Richmond Valley battery project. This development enhances energy security as nations move away from fossil fuels.

Korea Zinc's Australian unit, Ark Energy, has secured grid connection approval for its Richmond Valley battery energy storage project. The initiative includes a 200 MW solar farm and a long-duration battery system with a capacity of 2,200 MWh, able to supply up to 275 MW of power.
This storage capacity is equivalent to that of approximately 26,000 Tesla Model Y vehicles. The approval from Transgrid and the Australian Energy Market Operator positions the project within Australia's national electricity network. As the energy sector shifts towards renewables, this project is vital for enhancing energy security and reducing reliance on fossil fuels, although Korea Zinc's stock fell by 3.88% following the announcement.
