Koryx's Haib Project to Enhance Power and Water Infrastructure in Southern Namibia
Koryx Copper's Haib project is set to create a significant legacy in southern Namibia by enhancing local power and water infrastructure. The initiative includes a 200MVA power connection and a 20 million cubic metre annual water supply scheme, aimed at benefiting the Namibian community long after mining operations cease.

Koryx Copper's Haib project will produce copper concentrate while establishing a 200MVA power connection and a 20 million cubic metre water scheme for NamPower and NamWater. The power infrastructure will utilize a double circuit 220kV transmission line from Harib Substation, enhancing the national grid in remote areas.
Water supply will draw from the Orange River, supported by an off-channel storage dam to ensure year-round availability. The project has progressed through multiple environmental assessments and submitted its Mining License application in September 2025, with a target for Environmental Clearance Certificate approval in 2027. This infrastructure development may set a precedent for future mining projects, demonstrating the potential for private investment to enhance public utility services.
