KROHNE OPTIWAVE 1540 Radar Level Transmitter Installed at Australian WWTP
A wastewater treatment plant in Sydney has implemented the KROHNE OPTIWAVE 1540 radar level transmitter for acid dosing tank measurement, replacing an ultrasonic sensor that caused measurement instability. This upgrade enhances inventory management and reduces risks related to overfilling and environmental safety.
An Australian wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) has adopted the KROHNE OPTIWAVE 1540 radar level transmitter for its acid dosing tank, addressing issues with measurement spikes from an ultrasonic sensor. The OPTIWAVE 1540, made from PVDF materials, provides reliable non-contact level measurement for chemicals, even in environments with high acid vapours.
It is designed for low pressure up to 5 bar and low temperatures up to 80°C. The quick commissioning process via Bluetooth and the OPTICHECK Level Mobile app allows for efficient installation and access to diagnostics. This transition improves the accuracy of measurements, thereby assisting in inventory management and minimizing the risk of overfilling.
