KSEB Approves INR 6,478.41 Crore Capital Investment Plan for 2026-27 Fiscal Year
The Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) has approved a Capital Investment Plan totaling INR 6,478.41 crore for the 2026-27 fiscal year. Key allocations include INR 848.79 crore for power generation, INR 1,175.48 crore for transmission, and INR 1,669 crore for distribution.
The plan allocates INR 170 crore for battery energy storage systems (BESS), INR 52 crore for electric vehicle (EV) charging stations, and INR 100 crore for smart meters. KSEB has also set aside INR 419.36 crore for hydroelectric projects, with specific funds for the Maripuzha scheme and Poringalkuthu project.
The transmission budget includes INR 463.83 crore for system strengthening and INR 598.75 crore for the TransGrid 2.0 program. For distribution, INR 127 crore is allocated under the 'Dyuthi' scheme. A revised plan for 2025-26 has been approved with an outlay of INR 4,789.75 crore.
