Kumaraswamy Launches Solar Plant and Defence Projects at BHEL in Haridwar
H.D. Kumaraswamy inaugurated a 5-MW solar power plant and a 30-ton Electric Arc Furnace at BHEL's Haridwar facility, enhancing India's industrial capabilities. The solar plant aims to generate 90 lakh kWh annually, supporting India's Net Zero target by 2070. Additionally, an upgraded Super Rapid Gun Mount for the Indian Navy was flagged off, reflecting advances in indigenous defence production. Kumaraswamy emphasized the importance of domestic manufacturing in strengthening India's industrial resilience.

Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy visited BHEL in Haridwar, dedicating a 5-MW solar power plant and a 30-ton Electric Arc Furnace. The solar plant, with over 11,000 modules, aims to generate 90 lakh kWh annually, contributing to India's Net Zero target by 2070.
The Electric Arc Furnace will enhance metallurgical capabilities for critical manufacturing. Kumaraswamy also flagged off the Upgraded Super Rapid Gun Mount for the Indian Navy, showcasing advancements in indigenous defence production. He highlighted the importance of domestic capabilities in reducing import dependence and strengthening supply chains.
