Kutaisi Energy Group Proposes 44 MW Wind Power Plant in Terjola, Georgia
Kutaisi Energy Group has submitted a scoping report to Georgia's Environmental Supervision Department for a 44 MW wind power plant in Terjola municipality. The project includes seven GW171 wind turbine-generators, each with a 6.25 MW capacity, located near the villages of Godogani, Chognari, and Brolikheti.
The turbines will have a tower height of 120 meters and a rotor diameter of 171 meters. It also involves the construction of 35 kV cable transmission lines to connect the turbines to a substation. The wind farm will operate when wind speeds exceed 2.5 km/h and will shut down at 24 km/h.
Kutaisi Energy Group is jointly owned by the Energy Development Fund of Georgia (10%) and Wind Energy Group LLC (90%). If approved, the project will support Georgia's renewable energy goals.
