Kutch Desalination Project Progress Stalled Despite ₹300 Crore Allocation
WATER INFRASTRUCTURE & DESALINATION
The 100 MLD desalination plant in Gundiyali village, Kutch, is under development, but no funds have been spent from the ₹300 crore allocated over the past two years as of December 31, 2025. The project is managed by Kutch Sea Water Desalination Pvt.
Ltd., a joint venture of Shapoorji Pallonji & Company and Aquatech Systems Asia. Although the state government has not confirmed a timeline for completion, it indicates that work is ongoing and aims to finish the project as soon as possible.
