Kuwait Oil has awarded SLB a five-year contract valued at $1.5 billion for design, development, and production management at the Mutriba field. This contract enhances SLB's role in managing high-pressure, high-temperature reservoirs with sour conditions, indicating a broader scope of responsibility as field development progresses.

Commercial production at the Mutriba field commenced on June 15, 2025, following the successful connection of multiple wells to the necessary production infrastructure. The field, covering over 230 sq km, is situated in an undeveloped area and contains ultra-sour hydrocarbons with hydrogen sulfide concentrations nearing 40%.
