Kyocera Develops PCIe 6.0-Compatible Pluggable Optoelectronic Module for AI Data Centers
Kyocera Corporation has developed a pluggable optoelectronic module supporting PCIe 6.0, enhancing data center communication speed and power efficiency. This new OSFP-XD module, created in collaboration with AuthenX, will be showcased at OFC 2026 in Los Angeles. The module enables high-capacity communication, reduces power consumption by eliminating retimers, and supports long-distance connections, thus optimizing system design and cooling efficiency.

Kyocera Corporation has introduced the OSFP-XD pluggable optoelectronic module, which supports the PCIe 6.0 standard, aimed at enhancing optical communication and power efficiency in data centers. Developed in partnership with AuthenX, this module allows for high-capacity communication at 64 GT/s per lane and eliminates the need for retimers, thus reducing power consumption.
It enables long-distance optical fiber connections, facilitating flexible equipment placement and improved cooling efficiency. The product will be exhibited at OFC 2026 in Los Angeles from March 17 to 19, 2026, showcasing advancements in optical communication technology.
