Kyrgyz Energy Minister Inspects Naryn Energy Facilities and Hydroelectric Project
Energy Minister Taalaibek Ibraev visited Naryn oblast on February 25-26, 2026, to inspect energy facilities, including the Kulanak Hydroelectric Power Plant, which is under construction and set to be commissioned in 2027. The minister held discussions on the Upper Naryn Cascade project, addressing investment and progress. He also met with the Naryn Electric Grid Company to discuss improvements in power supply reliability, digitalization, and safety.

Energy Minister Taalaibek Ibraev conducted a two-day visit to Naryn oblast from February 25-26, 2026, inspecting several energy facilities. He visited the Kulanak Hydroelectric Power Plant construction site, discussing timelines and technical solutions; the plant is scheduled for commissioning in 2027.
The minister emphasized timely completion of work. Ibraev reviewed the Upper Naryn Cascade project with energy executives to discuss its resumption and investment. He met with Naryn Electric Grid Company staff to address key production and technical issues, including construction of facilities for the Dodomol substation and improvements in reliability, digitalization, and safety.
