Lactalis Expands Winchester Plant's Milk Processing Capacity by 25%

Lactalis Canada's Winchester plant has increased its daily milk processing capacity by 25%, now receiving up to two million litres. This expansion, completed with a $16.4 million milk receiving bay, is part of a $42 million investment in the facility, which also includes an $18 million wastewater treatment plant and infrastructure upgrades.
As of March 18, North Dundas council approved an additional 157.5 cubic metres of water supply per day for the plant, representing 9.1% of the new supply. By 2028, the plant aims to recycle 350 cubic metres of water daily through optimized consumption strategies. The facility currently uses 1,688.98 cubic metres of water per day.
