Lagos Water Corporation Begins Eight-Month Rehabilitation of Iju and Adiyan Treatment Plants
The Lagos Water Corporation has commenced an eight-month rehabilitation project for the Iju and Adiyan Water Treatment Plants to improve operational efficiency and potable water access in Lagos State. Funded by the Lagos State Government, the project will involve pump replacements and upgrades, aligning with the corporation's five-year strategic plan. Contractors have committed to ensuring timely delivery and providing training and support post-completion.

The Lagos Water Corporation (LWC) has initiated an eight-month rehabilitation project for the Iju and Adiyan Water Treatment Plants, aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and potable water access in Lagos State. Titled 'Rehabilitation of Iju Headworks and Akute Intake Station - Lots 1, 2 and 3', the project is part of the corporation's asset management strategy, funded by the Lagos State Government, and will run from February to October 2026.
The rehabilitation focuses on pump replacement and upgrades, aligning with LWC's five-year strategic business plan launched in December 2024. Engr. Mukhtaar Tijani emphasized the project's importance during a meeting on February 3, 2026, and highlighted the need for high technical standards. Contractors KSB Pumps & Valves Nigeria Ltd., Wilo Pumps Nigeria Ltd., and Springfield Electric Ltd. have committed to timely and quality delivery, alongside personnel training and equipment management support post-completion.
