Laigneville Approves Urban Plan Modification for Linamar's Mega Press Installation
Laigneville's municipal council is modifying its local urban plan to accommodate a large-scale project by Linamar. This initiative, involving a multi-hundred-ton press, is expected to secure local jobs for the next 20 years and support the production of electric and hybrid vehicle components.

Laigneville's council is set to alter its local urban plan to facilitate Linamar's installation of a significant press, enhancing local economic activity and job stability. The project requires elevating an existing factory hall from 12 to 19 meters to house the press, which will produce parts for electric and hybrid vehicles.
The investment for this project is estimated at around ten million euros, expected to influence local rental prices positively. A public consultation process will accompany the urban plan modification, similar to the recent data center project in Rantigny.
Environmental concerns have emerged, but the mayor deems them exaggerated, citing water consumption statistics. The project aims to sustain production and address local employment needs.
