Latvia's Climate and Energy Ministry has proposed a new support program for environmentally friendly vehicles, allocating EUR 40 million for electric, plug-in hybrid, and hydrogen cars. The program is under government review and aims to support citizens, particularly families with the Latvian Honorary Family Certificate.

It will offer EUR 4,000 for new cars and EUR 3,000 for used EVs, with enhanced support for large families based on the number of children. The program will operate until funds are depleted or December 31, 2029, and includes a EUR 2,000 bonus for scrapping combustion engine vehicles.
