Launch of 2026 Lithium Technology Accelerator Cohort in Arkansas
Arkansas has initiated the first cohort of the Lithium Technology Accelerator (ALTA), aimed at enhancing U.S. battery supply chains. This program connects energy-tech startups with local lithium producers and academic partners, fostering innovation in battery technologies.

The Arkansas Lithium Technology Accelerator (ALTA) launched its 2026 cohort from April 6-24, 2026, focusing on lithium and battery supply chain innovation. Key participants include Entegris POCO Materials, NewGenium, and Western Cam, which contribute advanced technologies in graphite processing and lithium production.
The initiative aims to strengthen the domestic battery supply chain and reduce reliance on imports. With support from the University of Arkansas and various industry partners, ALTA promotes Arkansas as a hub for lithium innovation, culminating in a Demo Day on April 24, 2026. The program's success could enhance national security through a more resilient battery supply chain.
