Launch of 2026 Model-Data Resonance Initiative by Chinese Authorities
The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the National Data Administration have launched the 2026 'Model-Data Resonance' Initiative to enhance industrial AI through structured data applications. This initiative aims to bridge gaps between data and AI models across 20 key industrial sectors, facilitating broader deployment of AI technologies in China.

The 2026 'Model-Data Resonance' Initiative, initiated on April 28, 2026, by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the National Data Administration, targets 20 major industrial sectors, including automotive and aerospace. It establishes a structured three-phase implementation schedule, with plans due by May 30, 2026, midterm evaluations by August 30, and final assessments by year-end.
Key tasks involve creating high-quality datasets and developing specialized AI agents. The initiative is expected to enhance industrial data governance and shift towards a closed-loop 'data governance-model optimization-scenario implementation' approach, impacting automation across the supply chain. This shift may increase demand for industrial data services and create new opportunities for system integrators and technology providers, while raising competitive pressures for hardware manufacturers reliant on traditional models.
