The Green Project Preparation Facility (PPF) was launched in Accra, Ghana, on June 18, 2026, with an initial £5 million commitment from the UK Government. The facility, managed by FSD Africa in collaboration with the Ghana Infrastructure Investment Fund (GIIF), aims to prepare climate-aligned infrastructure projects, facilitating investment and reducing development risks.
It will support both public and private sector developers, focusing on sectors like renewable energy and urban infrastructure. Ghana's reliance on hydropower and its vulnerable agricultural workforce highlight the urgent need for climate-resilient infrastructure. This initiative may attract private capital and enhance Ghana's capacity to address climate challenges.
