Launch of Pakistan's First PKR 3 Billion Green Sukuk for Telecom Sector
InfraZamin Pakistan and partner banks have launched Pakistan's inaugural PKR 3 billion AAA-rated Green Sukuk for the telecom sector. This initiative aims to finance solar and battery storage solutions, significantly reducing diesel reliance and supporting sustainable infrastructure development.

InfraZamin Pakistan has launched Pakistan's first PKR 3 billion AAA-rated Green Sukuk for the telecom sector, guaranteed by InfraZamin and arranged by DIB Pakistan Limited. The funds will facilitate the deployment of lithium-ion Battery Energy Storage Systems and solar solutions across 1,955 telecom tower sites, aiming to reduce diesel dependence and lower operational costs.
This transaction has garnered oversubscription from investors and is expected to create numerous jobs through various operational activities. The initiative aligns with Pakistan's Sustainable Development Goals, contributing to affordable energy and climate action. It illustrates the potential for Islamic finance to address infrastructure needs while promoting environmental sustainability.
