Lebanon County Residents Oppose $1.7 Billion Data Center Proposal
Residents in South Annville Township are voicing strong opposition to a proposed $1.7 billion data center, citing concerns about environmental impact, power consumption, and property values. The project aims to provide significant tax revenue but faces scrutiny over its potential effects on the community.

A proposed data center in South Annville Township, estimated at $1.7 billion, has attracted significant opposition from local residents. The development, proposed by 1235 Martina Drive Owner LLC, involves five buildings covering 99 acres, with an expected employment range of 50 to 100 staff.
If approved, it could yield approximately $13.4 million for the Annville Cleona School District and additional revenue for the county and township. Concerns raised include the center's power demands, potential health risks, and effects on property values.
The South Annville Township Planning Commission is reviewing the petition and must provide a recommendation within 45 days from the April 7 meeting. Although the first vote could happen as early as July, residents have requested a slower decision-making process.
