L&F Secures 1.6T Won LFP Supply Contract with Samsung SDI for North American Market
L&F has signed a 1.6 trillion Korean won supply contract with Samsung SDI for lithium iron phosphate (LFP) materials, marking the first such agreement by a non-Chinese firm. The contract will supply LFP materials for battery production for energy storage systems (ESS) over three years starting in 2027, with an option for an additional three years. L&F is increasing its production capacity and entering the North American ESS market, while Samsung SDI is set to use these materials in its Indiana facility.

L&F signed a 1.6 trillion Korean won supply contract with Samsung SDI for lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cathode materials, the first large-scale contract of its kind by a non-Chinese company. The contract spans three years from 2027 to 2029, with an option for an additional three years.
L&F will supply materials for energy storage systems (ESS) at Samsung SDI's joint venture in Indiana. The company is building production facilities with a capacity of 60,000 tons annually, with the first phase expected to complete in April 2026. This contract supports the shift in the global battery supply chain away from China.
