LG Uplus and GS E&C Sign Renewable Energy Contract for Carbon-Neutral Data Center
LG Uplus has entered into a renewable energy contract with GS Engineering & Construction to power its headquarters and data center with approximately 17 GWh of solar energy annually for 20 years, aiming for carbon neutrality. This initiative, which is set to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by about 7,000 tons per year, aligns with the government's RE100 policy and includes plans to supply an additional 10MW of renewable energy annually starting in 2027. The partnership underscores LG Uplus's commitment to managing renewable energy and reducing carbon emissions across its facilities.

LG Uplus has signed a renewable energy contract with GS Engineering & Construction to achieve carbon neutrality for its headquarters, including its data center. The contract will provide approximately 17 GWh of renewable energy annually from a solar power plant in Taean, South Chungcheong Province, over a 20-year period.
The renewable energy will be utilized across six headquarters, including the Seocho IDC, starting in September, with an expected reduction of about 7,000 tons of greenhouse gases per year. LG Uplus and GS E&C will collaborate to meet the government's RE100 policy, establishing a strategic partnership for renewable energy projects.
Starting in 2027, they plan to supply and procure approximately 10MW of renewable energy annually for three years. LG Uplus aims to manage renewable energy quantitatively to lower carbon emissions in key facilities and enhance efforts to reduce greenhouse gases.
