LGES Commits $5.5B to Queen Creek Battery Facility Development
LG Energy Solution is investing $5.5 billion in a battery manufacturing hub in Queen Creek, Arizona, aiming for a capacity of 53 GWh. This investment is set to create approximately 1,500 jobs by 2027, with a significant impact on local workforce development and the clean energy sector.

The LG Energy Solution (LGES) facility in Queen Creek, Arizona, represents a $5.5 billion investment to develop a manufacturing complex with a production capacity of 53 GWh. The facility includes a 36 GWh cylindrical EV plant and a 17 GWh energy storage system (ESS), although the latter is currently on hold.
LGES has partnered with Honeywell for advanced automation systems and launched the Future48 Workforce Accelerator to train local technicians. The project is on track for initial sample production in mid-2026 and full-scale production by late 2026. Economic implications include the creation of 1,500 jobs and significant infrastructure investments surrounding the facility, marking a strategic move in the North American battery market.
