Lifezone Metals Signs 14-Month Nickel Agreement with Burundi Government for Musongati Deposit

On March 10, 2026, Lifezone Metals signed a 14-month exclusivity agreement with the Government of Burundi for the Musongati nickel laterite deposit. This deposit is estimated at over 150 million metric tonnes with an average nickel grade of 1.31%, copper at 0.21%, and cobalt at 0.09%.

The agreement aims to facilitate evaluation and development of the deposit alongside the Kabanga project in Tanzania. The Musongati development is expected to enhance regional mineral supply chains and support economic growth in Burundi, with connections to the Standard Gauge Railway project for transporting minerals to the Port of Dar es Salaam.
